The Fresno City College baseball team is showing why it is one of the top squads in the state.
The second-ranked Rams (11-0) remain undefeated heading into Central Valley Conference play on Wednesday.
Fresno City traveled to Sacramento City College and swept the Panthers 13-3 and 9-3 behind strong pitching and timely hitting.
In Game 1, Gilbert Acosta drove in three runs, highlighted by a two-run double in the sixth inning. Starter Nathan Leffel pitched six scoreless, no-hit innings to earn the win, striking out nine.
In Game 2, Matt Torres and Jace Davies each had two RBIs, while Bowen Salyards went seven innings and struck out five.
Pending weather, the Rams will open a three-game series against Porterville College on Wednesday in Porterville.
