A Season of Excellence for Rams Softball

FRESNO, CA – Fresno City College Softball is proud to announce that softball recognition for the 2026 Team. Sydney Yep and Sara Barbosa have been named to the 2026 All-State North Team. This prestigious recognition, awarded by the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A), highlights the exceptional seasons both student-athletes delivered for the Rams. Six Rams earned All-Conference for the Central Valley Conference. First Team Award Winners were Lexie Rossotti (Central High), Alexis Alvarado (Fowler High), Sydney Yep (Kerman High), and Sara Barbosa (Central High). Second Team Award Winners were Amara Klein (Central High) and Makenna Makekau (Lemoore High). 

Sara Barbosa (Central High) proved to be the backbone of the Rams' pitching staff this season. With a commanding presence on the rubber, Barbosa posted an elite 1.83 ERA over 107.1 innings pitched.

Her durability was unmatched, recording 11 complete games and 4 shutouts, leading the team to a stellar 15-4 record in her appearances. Opposing batters struggled to find a rhythm against her, managing only a .221 batting average as she racked up 78 strikeouts. Barbosa's ability to limit damage and maintain composure in high-leverage situations solidified her status as one of the premier arms in the state.

Sydney Yep (Kerman High) delivered a masterclass in offensive production, emerging as one of the most feared hitters in the 3C2A. Over 36 games, Yep maintained a staggering .460 batting average and a .526 on-base percentage, proving to be a constant threat on the basepaths.

Yep's power was on full display throughout the 2026 season, slugging .761 with 8 home runs, 10 doubles, and 43 RBIs. Beyond her offensive fireworks, Sydney was a reliable force in the field, maintaining a .96.1 fielding percentage. Her "All-State" nod recognizes a season defined by consistency, power, and leadership in the lineup.

"Both Sydney and Sara represent the very best of Fresno City College Softball," said Linda Garza, Head Coach. "Their work ethic, and dominance have earned them this well-deserved All-State recognition. We couldn't be prouder to have them representing the Rams."

2026 Rams showcased one of the most dominate performances in over a decade. Assistant Coaches Jared Westendarp and Assistant Larry Tiger made monumental strides with the program this season hitting . 

The Rams are the 2026 Central Valley Conference Champions, earned the #9 Seed and head to the First Round of play offs on May 1-2, 2026, at Feather River College.
